Auschwitz True Story, Then and Now
I was also there, and say with hand on heart that is sad, very terrible whole story.
What is most distressing is the fact that this story was true. When you go there to visit every place, shaking your heart when you hear from the guide every story. It is painful but worth seeing for that to remember that we are humans and that was true story .
I hope this sad story is not repeated again.

In 1979, Auschwitz Muzelle Archives photographer Alan Jacobs sent several copies of paintings that render the horrors of the death camps where they were killed over 1 million people, of which 90% were Hebrew
After many years of work and numerous trips, Jacobs and his son, Jesse, returned to Auschwitz in 1996, to shoot those scenes. The resulting images, which you can see below, are the result of 24 years of efforts.
